New Delhi, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal addressed several key issues on September 28, including the Supreme Court’s notice regarding UPI charges. He also commented on remarks made by Union Minister JP Nadda about the Election Commission and the Congress Working Committee’s (CWC) meeting, amid ongoing discussions within the opposition’s INDIA bloc.
Khandelwal stated that the central government has a solid rationale for implementing UPI charges. He emphasized the increasing cyber threats, asserting the need to strengthen and secure the payment ecosystem. With the Supreme Court seeking a response from the government, he expressed confidence that the provided explanation would satisfy the court.
Regarding Nadda’s accusations against the opposition for allegedly creating a negative atmosphere in the country, Khandelwal criticized their approach. He noted that the opposition has been out of power for a long time and is desperately searching for new issues to regain relevance. He pointed out that they have rarely shied away from turning any topic into a controversy.
Khandelwal labeled opposition leaders as politically unemployed, claiming their goal has shifted to creating confusion rather than contributing constructively. He remarked that this shift in attitude has diminished their credibility.
On the CWC meeting called by Congress concerning the Election Commission controversy, Khandelwal suggested that Congress is merely trying to recycle old narratives. He expressed skepticism about the value of such meetings, although he acknowledged it as an internal matter for the party.
He also commented on the proposed meeting of the INDIA bloc regarding SIR and electoral issues, indicating that the CWC meeting would likely echo previous statements made by Congress leaders. Khandelwal raised concerns about the coherence within the INDIA bloc, citing examples from Punjab where coalition partners Aam Aadmi Party and Congress have publicly criticized each other.
Khandelwal’s remarks reflect ongoing tensions within the political landscape, highlighting the challenges faced by the opposition as they navigate their strategies ahead of upcoming elections.
