Patna, April 15: Union Minister Giriraj Singh has responded to recent statements made by Rahul Gandhi regarding West Bengal and Tejashwi Yadav’s comments about Samrat Chaudhary.
Recently, Rahul Gandhi remarked that if everything were in order in West Bengal, with no rising unemployment or violence, the BJP would not have gained a foothold. In response, Singh stated, “Everyone knows this. Rahul Gandhi has realized this quite late, as he was once seen in the race for Prime Minister alongside Mamata Banerjee. These are opportunistic individuals. The BJP has been fighting against misgovernance in Bihar since the 1990s, just as it opposes Mamata Banerjee’s misrule, lawlessness, and the protection of criminals and illegal immigrants, including Rohingya Muslims. Bengal is grappling with unemployment, poverty, corruption, and chaos.”
On the Congress’s opposition to the Women’s Reservation Bill, Singh expressed hope that they would not repeat their past behavior, especially regarding the bill’s initial presentation. “I hope Congress does not make the same mistakes as during the Mandal Commission era. We should not repeat these errors and should work together towards women’s empowerment,” he added.
Following Nitish Kumar’s resignation as Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav claimed that Bihar would now be governed by Gujarat. Singh responded to this by questioning Yadav’s credibility. “Since yesterday, he has been speaking with a forced smile. I want to ask Tejashwi Yadav why his brother Tej Pratap Yadav and sister Rohini Acharya left home in tears, and why he could not manage his family?” Such statements cannot obscure the truth, Singh concluded.
