New Delhi, April 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an energetic and grand road show in Nagercoil, located in the Kanyakumari district, on Wednesday. This event attracted a massive crowd, intensifying the electoral atmosphere ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled for April 23.
PM Modi arrived in Nagercoil as part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) campaign, which has been ramping up its election efforts. Accompanying him were key figures such as Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Nainar Nagendran, and former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai. Senior BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan also participated in the event.
The Prime Minister flew from New Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram and then took a helicopter to Nagercoil. Upon arrival, he began the road show in an open vehicle, covering approximately 1.5 kilometers from Veppamoodu Junction to Vadasery.
Standing atop a specially decorated vehicle, PM Modi greeted supporters lining the streets. The enthusiastic crowd cheered, raised slogans, and showered him with flowers. The event saw significant participation from both party workers and the general public, reflecting the heightened electoral fervor in the region.
This road show is a crucial component of the NDA’s aggressive election strategy. With the voting date approaching, political activities have surged in Tamil Nadu. Leaders from various political parties are actively engaging with voters across the state to bolster their support bases.
The presence of key alliance leaders alongside the Prime Minister underscores the NDA’s serious approach to southern Tamil Nadu, particularly Kanyakumari district. This area has historically been politically significant, with election outcomes influencing the state’s political landscape.
With only a few days left until the end of the election campaign, this visit by the Prime Minister is seen as vital for energizing party workers and strengthening the NDA’s electoral prospects.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will take place on April 23, with counting set for May 4. This road show, conducted under tight security, has become one of the major events in the election campaign in the southern district.
