Gandhinagar, April 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has entered the second phase of its three-stage campaign for the upcoming local self-governance elections. Party leaders provided details about the campaign’s framework and outreach strategy as election activities intensify across Gujarat.
During a press conference at the BJP’s state headquarters in Gandhinagar, Chief Spokesperson Dr. Anil Patel stated, “The BJP’s campaign, which will unfold in three phases, is currently in its second phase; the first phase was completed before the filing of nomination papers, and the third phase will continue until voting day.”
These remarks were made alongside an exhibition of the party’s election campaign materials and literature at the state office.
According to party leaders, the exhibition showcased a wide range of promotional materials prepared for the elections.
Patel highlighted that the campaign is being conducted through various mediums, combining grassroots outreach efforts with digital initiatives.
He noted, “With the BJP’s strong organizational strength at the booth level, the election campaign is effectively reaching people through door-to-door visits, digital promotions, and also through songs and music.”
He further explained that the campaign aims to inform citizens about the work done by both the central and state governments.
Patel stated, “Through these efforts, information about the public welfare and development initiatives led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, along with the state government under Bhupendra Patel, is being conveyed to the citizens.”
Detailing the promotional materials, he mentioned that the party has prepared various types of content.
He said, “For the election campaign, the BJP has developed diverse materials, including pamphlets, banners with information about schemes and development works, and items featuring the lotus symbol. All of these will be used at different locations to strengthen outreach.”
Referring to the party’s overarching message, Patel emphasized, “Based on development, good governance, and public welfare initiatives, the BJP is moving forward in the election campaign with the trust of the people.”
He also mentioned that the slogan connecting public support with development reflects the current public sentiment.
Expressing confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, Patel remarked, “Based on the report card of development works, the people of Gujarat will once again bless the BJP with a resounding victory.”
Earlier, in a separate statement, Patel criticized Congress’s electoral strategy, labeling it as ‘resort politics.’ He stated, “Congress previously ran a ‘Find the Candidate’ campaign. Now, they have initiated a ‘Hide the Candidate’ campaign. On results day, they will run a ‘Hide the Face’ campaign.”
He further alleged, “A Congress leader has admitted that the party demands money for ticket distribution. The opposition does not trust its own candidates. Congress has no faith in its own candidates. On the 28th, Congress will realize its true position.”
Meanwhile, Congress has reportedly sent over 100 candidates to some undisclosed ‘safe locations’ in parts of Gujarat, including districts like Navsari, Rajkot, and Surat. This move comes amid concerns about potential inducements and the pressure on candidates to withdraw their nominations before the deadline.
This step follows the BJP’s unopposed victories in several seats. The opposition claims that its candidates are being pressured to withdraw.
