Ranchi, April 15: In a disturbing incident in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, police have arrested the main accused, Mohd. Danish, along with his accomplice, Mohd. Fahad Malik, in connection with the rape of a Master in Dental Surgery student.
The arrests took place in Kharagpur, West Bengal, while the suspects were attempting to flee. Additionally, a friend of the victim, who was involved in the conspiracy, has also been apprehended in Ranchi.
Under the direction of Ranchi’s Senior Superintendent of Police, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) utilized technical assistance to track down the suspects and executed a swift operation to capture them. The team was led by Sakshi Jamuar, the officer in charge of the Kanke police station.
According to the victim’s statement, the incident occurred on April 9 during a birthday party at a flat in Gokul Vatika Apartments, located in Harmu, Ranchi. The victim was invited by her friend under the pretense that other girls would also be attending the party.
It is alleged that the cake and pizza served at the party were laced with a narcotic substance, causing the student to lose consciousness. Taking advantage of her incapacitated state, the main accused, Mohd. Danish, assaulted her. The following morning, when the victim’s condition worsened and she began to bleed, she was admitted to Orchid Hospital in Ranchi.
Upon receiving information from the hospital, the Lalpur police recorded the victim’s statement and registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Authorities revealed that the arrested individuals, Danish and Fahad, reside in Hindpiri and Lower Bazaar areas, respectively.
The police are actively searching for a fourth suspect, Shadab, who remains at large. They have assured that his arrest will be made soon and that a speedy trial will ensure severe punishment for the guilty parties.
