Delhi Police Arrest Notorious Thief with Stolen Scooter and Knife

New Delhi, March 27: The Madhu Vihar police in Delhi have apprehended a notorious thief involved in multiple robbery and theft cases. The operation was based on focused intelligence. The suspect, identified as Sunny alias Anup (24 years old), was found in possession of an illegal button knife and a stolen scooter, which he used to commit crimes in the area.

In response to a recent surge in mobile theft incidents, Inspector Arun Kumar (SHO) oversaw the formation of a special police team under the guidance of ACP Tilak Chandra Bisht. This team, including HC Arun and HC Sachin Tyagi, was tasked with increasing patrols and surveillance in sensitive areas.

On Wednesday, while patrolling near Max Hospital in Patparganj, the team received specific intelligence about a suspicious individual riding a stolen scooter near Utsav Maidan. The suspect was also reported to be armed. Acting swiftly on this information, the police team stopped the individual, who was riding a Honda Activa with a suspiciously bent number plate.

Upon questioning, the suspect revealed his name as Sunny alias Anup (24), residing in Kalyanpuri. He has completed education up to the 11th grade and is married with two children. Previously, he worked as an e-rickshaw driver, which he used to conceal his criminal activities.

The police recovered a blue Honda Activa scooter and a button knife from the suspect. Following this, a case was registered under Section 25 of the Arms Act at the Madhu Vihar police station.

Authorities stated that the suspect is a habitual offender and has been involved in several criminal cases in the past. Further investigations are underway to determine his involvement in other recent robbery incidents in the eastern district.
