New Delhi, August 19: The Delhi government has made a significant decision to enhance its administrative framework and expedite the delivery of public services. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Service Department has issued orders for the promotion and new postings of 111 officers in the DSS cadre.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated, “Making the administrative system efficient and accountable is our government’s priority. The new responsibilities assigned to these officers will accelerate the services provided to the public in key departments such as health, education, and revenue.”
According to the issued orders, a large number of officers have been appointed as Deputy Directors in the Education Department. This move is expected to facilitate the smooth operation of Delhi’s school education system.
Significant changes have also been made in the health sector. Officers have been promoted to the position of Deputy Medical Superintendent at major hospitals in Delhi, including Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Hospital, GTB Hospital, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, and Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Additionally, new appointments have been made at the Deputy Director level within the Health Services Directorate.
The Chief Minister noted that promoted officers have also been appointed as SDM headquarters and Assistant Commissioners in various subdivisions of the Revenue Department and the Trade Tax Department. This is anticipated to bring transparency and efficiency to revenue collection and GST-related tasks.
Moreover, officers have been appointed as Deputy Secretaries in the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat, Law and Justice Department, and the Vigilance Directorate. The government believes these appointments will expedite file processing and make the administration more accountable.
CM Rekha Gupta emphasized that these promotions reflect the government’s commitment to advancing the careers of its employees and encouraging their service spirit. DSS cadre Grade-I officers have long faced stagnation in their careers. These promotions have been made possible under the directives of the Delhi High Court and the cadre restructuring process.
She added, “We have ensured that qualified and experienced officers receive the recognition and promotions they deserve. This decision will not only boost the morale of the officers but also make citizen services faster, more transparent, and effective.”
