Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Awaits ₹1,500 Crore Aid from Prime Minister

New Delhi, August 19: Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhu, participated in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting and addressed various issues. He stated that they are currently awaiting the release of the financial aid announced by the Prime Minister for Himachal Pradesh.

Sukhu remarked, “The CWC is our largest policy-making body. This meeting discusses political conditions, the state of the country, and several other issues. I am here to participate in this meeting.”

Regarding the state’s challenges, he noted, “This year, rainfall in Himachal Pradesh has been below average. Areas that did receive rain have faced some damage. There is one region experiencing drought-like conditions due to almost negligible rainfall. Climate change impacts are evident. Himachal Pradesh has always been disaster-prone, and our government has consistently worked to manage disasters during the monsoon season. We ensure necessary arrangements during monsoons and emergencies.”

Sukhu added, “The Prime Minister announced ₹1,500 crore in aid, and we are waiting for this amount to be released. We hope to receive this funding soon, which will significantly assist us in managing natural disasters.”

Additionally, the Chief Minister posted on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Heavy rainfall has affected daily life in several districts, including Kinnaur, Una, Kangra, Solan, Hamirpur, Chamba, and Mandi. Given the ongoing rain and adverse weather, we are closely monitoring the situation. Teams from the administration and relevant departments are on alert, ensuring necessary assistance and relief efforts in affected areas. I urge everyone to remain vigilant, follow the guidelines issued by the meteorological department and local administration, avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from rivers and landslide-prone areas, and contact local authorities in case of emergencies.”
