Bhopal, February 9: Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang launched a sharp attack on the Congress party on Monday. He labeled Congress as an entity opposing Sanatan Dharma, Hindu philosophy, festivals, and saints, while questioning their recent distribution of Islamic Hijri calendars. Sarang stated that Congress is willing to go to any lengths for appeasement politics.
In a conversation with reporters, Vishwas Sarang remarked, “Congress opposes Sanatan Dharma, Hindu philosophy, Hindu festivals, and saints. What do they aim to prove by distributing Islamic calendars? Can they provide even one example where a Congress leader has shared positive literature or materials related to Hindu festivals?”
He accused Congress of wearing the sacred thread during elections to project a Hindu image while secretly engaging in Muslim appeasement. Sarang noted that if the BJP or any other party conducts Hindu religious events, Congress labels them as promoting Hindutva, yet they openly distribute Hijri calendars, showcasing their favoritism towards Muslims.
Sarang also referenced the Congress’s opposition to the Ram Temple. He stated, “Congress opposes the Ram Temple, questions the existence of Lord Ram, and denies Ram’s existence through affidavits in the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, they distribute Islamic calendars. This is clearly minority appeasement and vote bank politics.”
The BJP leader emphasized that Congress’s dual policy has become evident to the public. They hurt Hindu sentiments but are willing to go to any lengths to attract minority votes.
This statement came after Congress leader Manoj Shukla distributed 50,000 Hijri calendars to mosques and Muslim families in the Narela assembly constituency, where approximately 28 percent of voters are Muslim, totaling over 100,000. Congress describes this as promoting Ganga-Jamuni culture and love, while the BJP condemns it as politics that encourages extremism.
