New Delhi, March 14: Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the United States has made significant claims regarding its military operations against Iran. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that Iran’s air defense, air force, and navy are nearly inactive, with a drastic decline in missile and drone capabilities.
During a press briefing, Hegseth emphasized that the U.S. is destroying Iran’s military capabilities at an unprecedented pace. He noted that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is the primary mission.
Hegseth remarked that this conflict has never been an equal fight. All the cards are in President Donald Trump’s hands, determining the pace, speed, and timing of the struggle.
The Defense Secretary asserted that the U.S. is decimating Iran’s radical regime’s military in a manner unseen in history. No modern and capable military has been dismantled so rapidly or rendered completely ineffective in such a short time.
Hegseth stated, “We said this would not be an equal fight, and it truly has not been.”
He pointed out that Iran currently lacks air defense, air force, and navy capabilities. Their missiles, launchers, and drones are either being destroyed or shot down in the sky, with a reported 90% reduction in missile numbers.
The number of their “one-way attack” drones has decreased by 95%, and as the world watches, they are displaying extreme desperation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Hegseth mentioned, “We are working on a plan to defeat, destroy, and neutralize all their critical military capabilities at a pace never seen before.”
He added that Iran’s leadership is not in a better position. They are desperate and hiding, having gone underground out of fear. It is known that their new so-called leader is injured and possibly disfigured.
Hegseth noted that a statement was released by Iran yesterday, which was notably weak, lacking any voice or video, merely a written statement.
He predicted that soon all of Iran’s defense companies will be destroyed. They are unable to communicate effectively, let alone coordinate, and are completely confused, which is well understood.
Hegseth concluded, “Our response is clear: we will maintain our pressure. We will continue to push them back. We will keep moving forward. We will not give them any concessions. We will show no mercy to our enemies.”
