Congress Demands High-Level Investigation into Land Purchase Issues in Ujjain

Bhopal, June 24: The Congress party has targeted Chief Minister Mohan Yadav over land purchase issues in the religious city of Ujjain. They are calling for a high-level investigation into the matter. In a joint press conference at the state Congress office, state president Jitu Patwari and opposition leader Umang Singhar questioned the government regarding large-scale land transactions and alleged conflicts of interest associated with them.

Jitu Patwari raised a critical question: why have reports of extensive land purchases emerged in areas where new roads, corridors, bypasses, and development projects have been announced since Yadav took office? Areas such as Ujjain-Badanawar Road, Ujjain-Indore Road, Panchkoshi Parikrama Marg, Ujjain-Maksi Road, Ujjain-Nagda Road, Ujjain-Dewas Road, and the Garoth Greenfield Corridor have seen significant land purchases, raising concerns among the public.

Opposition leader Umang Singhar stated that allegations of scams and corruption have been rampant under the BJP government. Following the transport scam and alleged irregularities in the Ayushman scheme, the Ujjain land case has raised serious questions.

He also alleged that there were complaints of fraudulent documents being created in the name of a deceased individual for land registration in a village near Ujjain. Villagers have accused authorities of pressuring them and attempting to seize land. An impartial investigation into such cases is essential.

Singhar further noted that thousands of crores in development projects are proposed under the name of the Singhast festival. In this context, if individuals and companies connected to the ruling party are purchasing land on a large scale, it naturally raises suspicions among the public. The Chief Minister should clarify any connections he or his family may have with these companies and land deals.

The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded a thorough, impartial investigation into the entire land issue, public disclosure of all land purchased by the family and associated companies, and an inquiry into potential links between development projects and land acquisitions.
