Common Yoga Protocol Session Held at Kapil Muni Ghat in Gangasagar

Kolkata, June 20: A significant event took place on Saturday at the sacred Kapil Muni Ghat in Gangasagar, as part of the nationwide “Ganga to Gangasagar” campaign. The session focused on the ‘Common Yoga Protocol’ and marked the conclusion of an eight-day journey across eight selected cities and ghats along the Ganga River.

Organized by the Ministry of AYUSH, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, and the Indian Yoga Association, the event aimed to promote holistic health, environmental awareness, and the preservation of the Ganga’s sanctity.

Approximately 500 yoga practitioners, devotees, local residents, women, youth, senior citizens, and volunteers participated enthusiastically. Attendees practiced the ‘Common Yoga Protocol’ with dedication and zeal.

In alignment with this year’s International Yoga Day theme, “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” the event emphasized the importance of adopting yoga for a healthy, active, and respectful life. Messages related to cleanliness, environmental conservation, and the cultural significance of the Ganga were also shared with participants.

Under the ‘Clean Ganga’ initiative, attendees actively engaged in cleanliness drives before and after the event at the ghat premises. The overwhelming response and disciplined behavior of participants contributed to the program’s success.

The successful conclusion of the “Ganga to Gangasagar” campaign at Kapil Muni Ghat symbolized unity, health, harmony, and a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

Additionally, the Ministry of AYUSH shared a post on social media featuring actress Rakul Preet, highlighting that yoga provides peace amidst the hustle and bustle of life. As the world moves rapidly, Rakul Preet turns to yoga for solace.

The Health and Family Welfare Department of West Bengal also posted on social media about a yoga session held at the historic Eden Gardens Wellness Ground, where the forest department organized yoga amidst greenery. Each stretch conveyed a message: conservation and wellness go hand in hand.
