New Delhi, 30 December – In a significant step to strengthen the security of the Namo India Corridor, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has launched a specialised training programme for personnel of the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UP SSF) before their deployment on the corridor.
CISF has started a six-day ‘X-BIS and Security Gadget Handling Course’ aimed at equipping UP SSF personnel with advanced technical and practical skills to tackle modern security challenges. The training is being conducted at the CISF unit of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) training cell, ‘Kavach’. The first batch comprises 40 UP SSF personnel.
The programme focuses on operations and handling of the X-Ray Baggage Inspection System (X-BIS), modern security devices, and methods to address potential security threats in the rapid rail network.
Senior officials from CISF, National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), and DMRC attended the inaugural session. They emphasised the critical need for professional and technical training of security forces deployed in cutting-edge rapid transit projects like Namo India.
In a post on the social media platform X, CISF stated, “Before deployment on Namo India, CISF has initiated a specialised six-day training course on X-BIS and security gadget handling for UP SSF personnel. This programme is held at the CISF unit of DMRC’s training cell ‘Kavach’ with 40 UP SSF personnel in the first batch.”
The post further added, “This training underscores strong inter-agency cooperation to enhance security preparedness for India’s next-generation rapid transit systems. Senior officers from CISF, NCRTC, and DMRC highlighted the importance of capacity building and professional training during the inaugural session. CISF continues to play a vital role in developing specialised security capabilities for metro and rapid rail networks across the country.”
