Beijing, June 18: The 22nd China International Cartoon and Animation Festival has officially commenced in Hangzhou, eastern China.
The opening ceremony showcased a blend of cartoon and animation features. Humanoid robots performed alongside young actors, highlighting the event’s innovative spirit. Twelve cartoon and animation packages reflecting Hangzhou’s unique culture and key landmarks were launched, promoting both culture and tourism.
Additionally, the festival featured the first promotional launch of the animated film based on the legendary story of West Lake, titled “Pi Suchin,” as well as “Monkey King: Rise of the Great Sage.”
Since its establishment in 2005, the Hangzhou International Cartoon and Animation Festival has grown to become the largest event of its kind in China. This year’s festival is organized by the National Radio and Television Administration, CMG, and the Zhejiang provincial government, with participation from enterprises and institutions across 33 countries and regions.
