Security Preparations Reviewed for Amarnath Yatra 2026 in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, June 18: In anticipation of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jatin Kishore chaired a security coordination meeting with police and security forces on Thursday.

The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration among various security agencies and review the security arrangements related to the Amarnath Yatra in the district.

At the start of the meeting, the DC conducted a detailed review of the preparations being made by different departments and security agencies for the successful operation of the Yatra along the Baltal route.

A comprehensive security plan was discussed to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. Officials reported that adequate security measures are being implemented at all key locations, including the Baltal base camp, the Manigam transit camp, and along the pilgrimage route.

The DC emphasized the importance of maintaining better coordination among all agencies and instructed officials to increase vigilance during the Yatra period, ensuring a quick response to any situation. He stated that all preparations should be completed in advance to provide pilgrims with a safe and hassle-free experience.

Traffic management was also reviewed during the meeting. Officials were directed to work collaboratively across all relevant departments to effectively manage the movement of travelers and respond promptly to any emergencies.

The DC reiterated that the district administration is fully committed to ensuring a safe, peaceful, and convenient Amarnath Yatra. He called on all departments and agencies to work together for the successful operation of the pilgrimage.

Senior officials present at the meeting included Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Sudhanshu Dhamma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Additional Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kangan, along with senior officials from the police, army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Intelligence Bureau, SDRF, Traffic Police, Police Telecommunications, and other relevant departments.
