Beijing, June 18: Chinese President Xi Jinping recently provided important directives aimed at enhancing coordination between the eastern and western regions of the country. He emphasized that this coordination has played a crucial role over the past 30 years in poverty alleviation and regional integrated development, showcasing the political advantages of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the superiority of the socialist system.
Xi highlighted that this year marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan and the first year of implementing regular assistance policies. He called for strengthening coordination mechanisms, adjusting collaborative methods, and expanding the areas of cooperation. Xi stressed the need for mutual supply, exchanges, and learning between the eastern and western regions to achieve mutual benefits and equitable development.
CPC committees and governments at various levels must take responsibility for regular assistance to firmly safeguard against the resurgence of large-scale poverty. They should promote comprehensive rural revitalization, strengthen continuous regional development coordination, and take concrete steps towards the common prosperity of the entire populace.
The national working meeting on coordination between the eastern and western regions was held on June 17 in Xining, a city in western China, where Xi Jinping’s significant directives were conveyed.
