Central Governments Welfare Schemes Benefit Poor, Youth, Farmers, and Women: Devesh Tiwari

Giridih, June 20: Devesh Tiwari, a member of the committee formed to oversee the implementation of the central government’s welfare schemes, addressed a press conference in Giridih, Jharkhand, on Saturday. He highlighted the significant achievements of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past twelve years in areas such as development, good governance, and public welfare.

Tiwari stated that since 2014, a strong and empowered government has been in place, implementing extensive reforms and development initiatives across various sectors.

He emphasized that the central government’s policies have particularly benefited the poor, youth, farmers, and women. The aim of these schemes is to integrate every section of society into the mainstream. Approximately 580 million people have been connected to the banking system, allowing for direct benefit transfers (DBT) from government programs, which has increased transparency.

Tiwari noted that there has been historic progress in infrastructure development across the country. The rapid construction of new national highways, establishment of new airports, and modernization of railways have transformed the landscape. The operation of modern trains like Vande Bharat and the redevelopment of railway stations have significantly improved Indian Railways.

He also mentioned initiatives like Startup India, Make in India, and Skill India, which have empowered youth to become self-reliant and created new job opportunities. The government’s focus is on building a self-reliant India.

Furthermore, Tiwari highlighted that approximately 800 million people are receiving free rations, which is a major social security initiative. This ongoing support has provided relief to poor and needy families.

In the context of Jharkhand, he pointed out the establishment and operation of AIIMS in Deoghar as a significant achievement. Additionally, the opening of Deoghar Airport has accelerated regional connectivity and development. He noted that the central government has implemented development plans worth nearly ₹50,000 crores in Jharkhand, improving the lives of tribal and marginalized communities.

Tiwari also mentioned that by celebrating the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day, the government has worked to enhance the respect and pride of the tribal community.
