
Tokyo, July 1: Ahead of her visit to India, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi held a press conference highlighting the growing importance of collaboration with India in the current global landscape. She stated that both nations are advancing a robust partnership based on shared democratic values and strategic interests.
The information was shared via an official post on the Japanese Cabinet’s public relations account. Prime Minister Takaichi remarked, “Amid increasing uncertainties in the international arena, the significance of cooperation with India has never been greater. India and Japan share fundamental values and strategic interests, which is the greatest strength of our partnership.”
She also mentioned that over 150 representatives from Japan’s business sector will accompany her on this trip. Their goal is to broaden the scope of India-Japan relations through public-private partnerships.
Takaichi emphasized that there will be a special focus on elevating economic cooperation between the two countries to new heights. She stated that concrete steps will be taken to strengthen partnerships in investment, trade, infrastructure, technology, and other strategic areas.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that her visit to India would invigorate economic, strategic, and industrial cooperation between the two nations, fostering a strong and sustainable economic partnership through joint participation from both public and private sectors.
Takaichi is set to arrive in India for a three-day visit on Wednesday, marking her first trip to India since taking office. High-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi are also on the agenda. Both leaders will participate in the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, where they will discuss several critical issues, including trade, investment, defense, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, automobiles, supply chains, and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
