
Pakur, July 1: A disturbing incident has emerged from Pakur district in Jharkhand, where a married woman and a young man were paraded semi-naked through a village amid suspicions of an affair. Following the circulation of a video on social media, police have registered a case against five named individuals and 30-40 unidentified persons.
Authorities are actively conducting raids to apprehend the suspects. The incident reportedly took place a few nights ago in a village under the jurisdiction of the Amda Para police station. Allegations suggest that the woman’s husband caught her with the young man, leading to a public outcry that drew numerous villagers to the scene. Subsequently, both individuals were assaulted, their clothes torn, and they were paraded semi-naked throughout the village.
A large crowd reportedly gathered to witness the incident, with some recording the events on their phones, which later went viral. In response to the video’s release, police took action. Both victims have undergone medical examinations as part of the investigation.
Based on the victim’s statement, a case numbered 49/2026 has been registered at the Amda Para police station. The woman’s husband and four others have been named as accused, while 30 to 40 unidentified individuals have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to police officials, the victim’s statement was recorded in the presence of Sub-Divisional Officer Simon Marandi and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Vijay Kumar. Efforts to arrest all accused individuals are ongoing, with police stating that they are identifying those involved based on the viral video and other evidence.
