New Delhi, July 23: Renowned Indian singer and composer Raghav Sachar will celebrate his 45th birthday this Friday. Born on July 24, 1981, in Kolkata, he has made a significant mark in both Hindi cinema and the international music scene. His passion for music ignited at a young age.
At just 15, Raghav began his music training in Jamnagar, Gujarat. His parents, R.K. Sachar and Usha Sachar, have always been his pillars of support. In 1994, he won the Best Drummer award at the Pepsi Cornucopia contest in Delhi and was recognized as the Best Keyboard Player at the BITS Pilani festival. He also earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Monash University.
Raghav made his mainstream debut in 2003 with his album ‘Raghav for the First Time,’ released under HMV Records. Since then, he has never looked back. Today, he is proficient in over 50 instruments, including guitar, piano, drums, saxophone, and violin. He is celebrated as India’s first multi-instrumental pop star.
In Bollywood, Raghav has contributed background scores and songs for films like ‘Andhadhun,’ ‘Rustom,’ and ‘Alone.’ His sweet voice and fusion style have made him a favorite among the youth. He has crafted a unique style by blending pop, rock, Sufi, and indie music. As an ‘A-grade artist,’ he has also been a regular performer on All India Radio and Doordarshan.
Raghav’s personal life is deeply intertwined with music. In 2014, he married actress Amita Pathak, and the couple supports each other in their musical endeavors. Raghav is not only a performer but also a music producer, teacher, and entrepreneur. He has trained numerous young musicians and established his own music studio.
