Mumbai, August 27: Renowned singer Asha Bhosle has connected generations through her melodious voice. Now, her voice is set to grace the screen once again. Notably, this song is one of her last recorded film tracks. The upcoming drama-comedy film “Om Ka Hari” features Asha Bhosle’s song “Ae Meri Zindagi, Tu Chhupi Hai Kahan.” Actor and filmmaker Anshuman Jha has shared memorable experiences related to this song.
In a conversation with us, Anshuman Jha recounted his experience working with Asha Bhosle. He said, “One lesson I learned from her will always stay in my heart. She came to record the song and felt it could be improved, so she recorded it again, and then a third time.”
He added, “Asha Bhosle had watched some scenes from the film and loved the footage. This is why she wanted to reconnect with the song and present every part with the right emotion. Her effort to convey each note with feelings and her affectionate demeanor will always remain with me. For me, this experience was not just about working with a great singer but also about learning from her.”
Anshuman also shared another special anecdote about Asha Bhosle. He mentioned, “Asha ji had seen the trailer of my film ‘Lakadbaggha.’ After watching it, she told me, ‘You will receive a lot of blessings from this.’ I also had the chance to discuss my favorite artist, Kishore Kumar, with her. That conversation became a cherished memory for me.”
Anshuman promised Asha Bhosle a vintage-style music launch for the “Om Ka Hari” album. His plan was for her to perform live on stage during the event. She was quite excited about it. However, this wish could not be fulfilled. “This is a regret I will carry with me for life, but time has its own rules,” he reflected.
The song “Ae Meri Zindagi, Tu Chhupi Hai Kahan” speaks of the joy of life, the beauty of love, and the importance of expressing one’s feelings in time. The recording took place at the end of 2023, when Asha Bhosle was over 90 years old.
The filmmakers have also prepared this song as a tribute to Asha Bhosle. It will be released on her birthday, September 8.
