Mumbai, August 28: Alexander Fersov, the Deputy Consul General of the Russian Federation, emphasized the importance of strengthening India-Russia bilateral cooperation. He announced that both nations have set an ambitious target of achieving $100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030. Fersov described the partnership as a collaboration between two great civilizations and stated that the Global Impact Forum will serve as a crucial platform for deepening mutual cultural and business understanding.
Fersov remarked, “I believe we will continue to strengthen, expand, and deepen our bilateral cooperation in every sector. We have set a goal of reaching $100 billion in bilateral trade by 2030, and we are working diligently towards this target.”
The Deputy Consul General highlighted, “I can only say that we view our partnership with India as one between two great civilizations. This is why we fully support the theme of the forum. It is essential to understand each other’s cultural and civilizational heritage to develop a deeper mutual understanding. When engaging in trade with another country, it is also important to comprehend their culture, background, and ways of thinking.”
Fersov noted that cultural cooperation is a key pillar of friendship and partnership between the two nations, and significant attention is being given to this area. In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of Indian products entering the Russian market. He also pointed out the growing interest of Russian people in Indian films and music, stating, “What is an Indian film without music?”
Looking ahead, Fersov expressed anticipation for the upcoming second Global Impact Forum scheduled for early September. He hopes that many Russians will attend and meet with their Indian counterparts to explore the collaborative opportunities available between the two countries. As discussed in today’s meeting, it is not solely about signing agreements or MOUs, although I believe some agreements may indeed emerge from this.”
