CBSE Postpones Board Exams in Seven Countries Amid Ongoing Middle East Conflict

New Delhi, March 1: In light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to postpone board examinations scheduled for March 2 in several countries in the region. This decision prioritizes the safety of students amid rising tensions.

According to an official announcement from CBSE, the Class 10 and Class 12 exams set for March 2 at CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been temporarily deferred. The board clarified that conducting exams under the current circumstances poses risks to both students and staff.

Additionally, CBSE has scheduled a high-level meeting on March 3 to review the situation regarding exams planned beyond March 5. A final decision regarding future examinations will be made following this meeting.

The board stated that revised dates for the postponed exams will be announced soon. Students and parents are advised to stay in touch with their respective schools and to obtain updates from official websites or school administrations. They have also been urged not to rely on rumors or unverified information.

Due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, security measures have been tightened in several countries. Conducting exams under these conditions is deemed challenging, prompting the board to take precautionary measures.

CBSE reiterated its commitment to safeguarding students’ academic interests and ensuring that the examination schedule remains balanced to avoid negatively impacting students’ preparations. Currently, students are awaiting further updates, while the board continues to monitor the situation closely.

It is noteworthy that Israel and the United States have launched attacks on Iran, targeting several cities, including the capital, Tehran. The presidential palace in Iran was hit, resulting in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Khamenei.
