Raebareli, August 16: Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Manoj Pandey has criticized Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for paying tribute to Rani Avantibai Lodhi while allegedly neglecting to honor former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary. Pandey questioned Yadav’s actions and launched a political attack against him.
Yadav did not attend the funeral of Kalyan Singh, which prompted Pandey to express his views to a news agency. “I have often said that it is a great misfortune to view or honor the great personalities of our country through the lens of caste, religion, or party affiliation. This reflects the unfortunate mindset of those who think this way. Babu Kalyan Singh symbolizes Sanatan and Hindutva in this country. Atal Bihari Vajpayee represented India’s identity, dignity, integrity, and progress. He was honored with the Bharat Ratna,” he stated.
Pandey emphasized the importance of Vajpayee’s contributions to democracy, noting, “We cannot forget how Atal Bihari Vajpayee respected the opposition in democracy and how he led with inclusivity. This reflects the mindset of such individuals.”
He further criticized those who make derogatory comments against Brahmins or disrespect Vajpayee, while also disparaging the PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) community and former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, who represented the ideals of Sanatan. “The facade of such individuals is falling apart, revealing their narrow-mindedness and small hearts,” Pandey remarked.
“Atal Bihari Vajpayee was awarded the Bharat Ratna. He initiated campaigns to connect rivers and roads across the country. He demonstrated what democracy should look like. If anyone thinks they can divide such respected figures into political factions, it is their misfortune,” he concluded.
