
New Delhi, August 16: A dispute during the Kanwar Yatra in Charkhi Dadri district escalated into violence, resulting in a young man being shot. The police acted swiftly, arresting four suspects involved in the incident. Authorities also recovered illegal weapons and cartridges from the accused.
According to police reports, at 3 AM on August 15, the control room received information about gunfire near the bus stand in Khedipura village. The local police promptly arrived at the scene, where they found a young man named Manjeet injured with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where timely medical intervention saved his life.
Following the incident, police registered a case and initiated an investigation. Later that evening, they received a tip-off about the suspects gathering at a specific location. Acting on this information, the SHO and his team apprehended all four individuals.
Police revealed that one of the arrested suspects was found in possession of a country-made pistol and a live cartridge. Another suspect also had a country-made pistol and a live round. Additionally, the vehicle used in the crime has been seized by the police.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the dispute stemmed from an argument during the Kanwar Yatra. Manjeet and the suspects had a disagreement, which led to the shooting.
Currently, Manjeet is receiving treatment at Medanta Hospital. Doctors report that his condition is stable and he is out of danger.
Authorities stated that all arrested suspects will be presented in court and taken into police custody for further investigation into the incident and the roles of the accused. The investigation is ongoing.
