Shimla, August 16: On the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Chief Minister Sukhu paid his respects. He also responded to yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s comments regarding corruption and paper leaks in government recruitment.
CM Sukhu told the media, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee often stayed at his residence in Prini, Manali during his holidays as Prime Minister. Today, the entire nation remembers him. He believed in inclusive politics, which is rarely seen today.”
In response to Baba Ramdev’s statement, Sukhu remarked, “If Baba Ramdev has made this comment, there must be some truth to it. In our case, those who leaked and sold exam papers are still in jail. In the last three and a half years of our government, there has not been a single paper leak. The question is, why did paper leaks occur when the BJP was in power in Himachal Pradesh?”
CM Sukhu emphasized that his government has taken strict measures to ensure transparency in recruitment. Strong actions have been taken against those involved in paper leaks, which is why no irregularities have surfaced in the past three and a half years.
He added that the government is working to improve education and basic facilities. Ensuring employment opportunities for youth and a fair recruitment process is our priority.
It is noteworthy that Baba Ramdev alleged that government recruitments are marred by financial transactions and corruption, favoring certain individuals. He also highlighted the dire state of the education system, citing a severe shortage of teachers, water, and basic amenities in schools. He warned the government that if these “irregularities” are not addressed, significant unrest among youth and students could lead to major protests.
