CM Yogi Pays Tribute to Revolutionary Queen Avantibai Lodhi on Her 196th Birth Anniversary

Lucknow, August 16: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid homage to the statue of the valiant Queen Avantibai Lodhi on her birth anniversary. He recognized her as one of the great revolutionaries of India’s First War of Independence in 1857, emphasizing that the sacrifices and dedication of such heroines inspire us all.

CM Yogi noted that today marks her 196th birth anniversary. At just 27 years old in 1857, she set a remarkable example by sacrificing her life for the freedom struggle. Her martyrdom serves as a source of inspiration for the youth. Queen Avantibai Lodhi is celebrated as one of the great heroines of India’s independence, having devoted her life to the nation. She showed no hesitation in offering everything for freedom, and her legacy is honored with deep respect by all.

The Chief Minister stated that to ensure Queen Avantibai Lodhi’s ideals inspire the people of Uttar Pradesh, the government has initiated the formation of three new women battalions under the UP Police, named after these brave women. A new PAC unit named after Queen Avantibai Lodhi has been established in Badaun, and the installation of her equestrian statue is nearing completion. In Lucknow, a women’s PAC battalion named after Veerangana Uda Devi Pasi is also progressing rapidly. Additionally, in Gorakhpur, a new PAC battalion named after Veerangana Jhalkari Bai Kori is advancing swiftly, with plans for their equestrian statues underway.

CM Yogi highlighted that in the past, concerns regarding the safety of women in Uttar Pradesh were prevalent. The initiatives named after these heroines aim to eliminate such issues, ensuring that daughters can live safely and work with dignity in every sector of society. The government is committed to implementing effective schemes for women’s empowerment. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is dedicated to advancing these programs.

He also mentioned that the recruitment of women in the Uttar Pradesh police force has become mandatory at 20%. In 2017, there were only 10,000 women in the police force, a number that has now risen to over 45,000. Women are not merely a slogan; their dignity is being safeguarded, allowing them to contribute to the dreams of a self-reliant and developed India with a sense of national pride.
