New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a sharp rebuttal against statements made by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi. BJP spokesperson Hero Bajpayee accused Yadav of playing a double game, suggesting he is invoking the name of Sanatan while trying to protect mosques. Bajpayee claimed that Yadav fears losing his Muslim voter base with Owaisi’s entry into Uttar Pradesh.
Regarding Owaisi’s comments on the Saharanpur mosque incident, Bajpayee characterized them as an attempt to gain visibility ahead of the 2027 elections. He noted that as the election approaches, every political party seeks to carve out its space, with Owaisi trying to appeal to a specific demographic by focusing on mosques and Muslims.
BJP MLA Abhijit Singh Sanga also weighed in, criticizing Yadav for his comments on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s faith and values. Sanga pointed out that Yadav, who has served multiple terms as Chief Minister, has not prioritized visits to significant religious sites like Mathura and Vrindavan. He praised Adityanath for his efforts to beautify these areas with special packages.
On Prime Minister Modi‘s recent engagement with youth during his SRCC visit, Sanga highlighted the importance of these interactions in conveying the government’s vision.
Addressing the proposed ban by VHP on Muslim participation in Gujarat’s Garba events, Sanga stated that such actions should not disturb societal harmony.
As for Owaisi’s remarks regarding the demolition of a mosque in Saharanpur, Bajpayee reiterated that the upcoming elections are prompting political leaders to make provocative statements to attract attention. He urged Yadav to reflect on his own statements, suggesting that his concerns about Owaisi’s influence indicate a sense of anxiety over his political position.
