AIMIM Leader Criticizes Government Over Demolition of Mosque in Saharanpur

Saharanpur, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Waris Pathan, the national spokesperson for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), has sharply criticized the government following the demolition of a mosque in Saharanpur. He described the act as a grave violation of the Constitution and democracy, stating that the mosque had been in existence since 1911 and was still holding prayers as of September 3.

Pathan accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of engaging in divisive politics, alleging that the demolition was part of a conspiracy. He also raised concerns about the Ram Temple Trust, claiming it was involved in financial fraud amounting to crores, which he argued undermined the faith of Hindus.

“The Waqf law they have enacted is fundamentally flawed,” Pathan asserted. “Just yesterday, prayers were being offered at the Saharanpur mosque. What law are you following? You disregard the High Court and the Supreme Court. I believe today marks a dark day for our democracy.”

He further criticized the BJP’s handling of the Ram Temple issue, stating, “A massive temple was constructed, a trust was established, and fraudulent activities ensued. The faith of Hindus has been trampled upon. These individuals have revealed their true selves. The Special Investigation Team’s report has surfaced, and now someone else has been appointed in place of Champat.”

Pathan contended that the BJP is on the defensive, focusing solely on spreading hatred and taking action against mosques. “Voters will not accept this anymore. The countdown for the BJP and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has begun,” he warned.

He condemned the demolition of the mosque in Saharanpur, stating, “What happened here was witnessed by the nation. Once again, the Constitution has been choked, democracy has been murdered, and the rule of law has been trampled.”

Pathan emphasized that the mosque was demolished under a premeditated plan, with actions taken at 5 AM while residents were not allowed to leave their homes. “The mosque had stood since before independence. It was still operational until September 3,” he concluded.
