New Ramleela Ground to Be Built Near Marine Drive in Patna, Announces Chief Minister

Patna, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced on September 5 that three large grounds near Marine Drive in Patna will be ready by March 2027. One of these grounds will be designated as Ramleela Maidan, specifically for the annual Ramleela and Ravan Vadh events.

The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Shri Krishna Mahotsav at Gandhi Maidan. The CM stated that the Ramleela and Ravan Vadh programs, traditionally held at Gandhi Maidan, will be relocated to the new site, with special arrangements being made for the events.

The Dashahara Committee Trust has been organizing the Ramleela festival and Ravan Vadh at Gandhi Maidan since 1955 and has been seeking a new venue. In this regard, the Chief Minister has directed the Patna District Magistrate to take necessary actions.

Wishing success for the Shri Krishna Mahotsav, Chaudhary emphasized that Lord Krishna’s teachings highlight the importance of standing against injustice and protecting truth. Citing the Mahabharata, he noted that Krishna attempted to prevent conflict by asking for just five villages from the Kauravas, but the war could not be avoided due to injustice.

The CM also spoke about the flood situation in Bihar, noting that the water level of the Ganges is significantly higher compared to previous years. He mentioned that officials and ministers have been deployed in districts along the Ganges Basin, and the government is closely monitoring the situation. He pointed out the rising water levels and flow of the Son and Gandak rivers as additional concerns.

Chaudhary indicated that Bihar continually faces challenges from water coming from Nepal’s Terai region. He announced that work has begun on a comprehensive plan to manage the Kosi, Gandak, and Ganges basins. Additionally, the government plans to develop roads and water transport systems along riverbanks in coordination with the Central Water Commission.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to making Bihar more prosperous and developed in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India.’
