Saharanpur, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : A delegation from the Samajwadi Party (SP) is set to visit Saharanpur on September 6 to investigate the recent demolition of a 119-year-old mosque located within the Saharanpur Collectorate premises. This decision follows directives from the party’s national president, Akhilesh Yadav.
According to a statement from the party, the mosque was demolished by bulldozers on the morning of September 5, following orders from a civil court. The SP claims that the district administration assured them the previous evening that the mosque would be sealed but not demolished.
The delegation aims to gather information about the incident and understand the full context of the situation by meeting with the Divisional Commissioner in Saharanpur. After the visit, the team will compile a report to present to the party’s state office.
Leading the delegation will be Lal Bihari Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. The team will consist of 16 members, including MPs, MLAs, and senior party officials.
Among the delegation members are Lal Bihari Yadav (Leader of the Opposition), Chaudhary Abdul Wahid (District President), Haji Nawab Ansari (City President), and several other prominent figures from the party.
The SP has expressed concerns regarding the administration’s actions and has decided to prepare a comprehensive report on the matter following their assessment of the situation and discussions with administrative officials.
