Faridabad, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda has leveled serious allegations against the BJP government and the Election Commission regarding the Haryana Assembly election results and the electoral process. Speaking at an event in Faridabad, Hooda claimed that the BJP and the Election Commission colluded to form a government that disregarded the public’s will.
In a conversation with reporters, Hooda stated that Congress will persistently raise this issue and will conduct a nationwide campaign from October 2 to 8, demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
Hooda remarked, “The BJP and the Election Commission conspired to ignore the people’s opinion and formed a government in Haryana. During the election, Congress was leading in postal ballot counts in 75 out of 90 assembly seats. Historically, the party that has led in postal ballots has formed the government in Haryana.”
He pointed out that it was unprecedented for Congress to lead in 75 seats by postal ballot yet see the final results favoring the BJP.
Hooda also sought clarification from the Election Commission regarding voter turnout statistics. He emphasized that Congress would raise questions about the electoral process during its upcoming campaign.
Additionally, Hooda criticized the Haryana government over law and order issues, alleging that both traders and ordinary citizens are facing threats from gangsters demanding extortion. He called on the government to address the deteriorating law and order situation, insisting that it should clarify the allegations of crime and fear prevailing in the state.
Addressing the issue of drug abuse, Hooda stated that while the government speaks about anti-drug campaigns in other states, preventing drug use among youth in Haryana remains a significant challenge. He noted that drugs are being delivered to young people at home.
Hooda mentioned that Congress is working on strengthening its organization at the booth level. Under the Organization Creation Year initiative, the party is focused on engaging its workers and reinforcing its organizational structure. Congress will continue to prioritize issues related to drugs, crime, and the electoral process.
In Jind, Congress MLA and international wrestler Vinesh Phogat praised Neeru Dhanda, the gold medalist from the Asian Games, for her achievements. He spoke about women’s empowerment and breaking free from social traditions.
Phogat remarked that women have long been viewed as weak and often subjected to restrictive customs such as veiling. He commended Neeru for prioritizing her sport over familial pressure to marry.
He emphasized that the decision to marry or not is a personal right, with its own timing in life. He cited Neeru’s choice as an example of commitment to one’s priorities.
Phogat also expressed concern that athletes often gain recognition only after winning medals. He noted that before her victory, very few were aware of who Neeru Dhanda was. He stressed the need for athletes to receive recognition and support for their achievements prior to medal wins.
Furthermore, Phogat called for kabaddi to be included in the Olympic Games, highlighting that Indian players, especially women, are winning medals on international platforms like the Asian Games. He urged the International Olympic Committee to consider kabaddi for inclusion, asserting that if cricket can be part of the Olympics, kabaddi deserves the same opportunity. He expressed hope that kabaddi would gain more global recognition and that Indian athletes could bring home medals from the Olympics.
