BJP and Mahayuti Celebrate Major Victory in Maharashtra Elections

New Delhi, February 10: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Mahayuti coalition have achieved a significant victory in the Maharashtra district council and panchayat elections. Prime Minister Modi remarked that Maharashtra has once again blessed the coalition with its support.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude for the overwhelming mandate given by the people of Maharashtra in the district council elections, following the coalition’s impressive performance in municipal elections. He emphasized that the citizens of both rural and urban Maharashtra desire good governance and a coalition that embodies the spirit of the state’s glorious culture. Modi thanked the people of Maharashtra and extended his best wishes to every worker of the Mahayuti for their relentless efforts and for promoting the NDA’s vision of good governance alongside the solid track record of the Maharashtra government.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the BJP and Mahayuti’s significant victory reflects the trust rural Maharashtra has placed in them. He congratulated the public and BJP workers for this achievement.

Fadnavis noted that the rural populace has shown unwavering confidence in their work during the municipal, metropolitan, and district council elections. He criticized the opposition, stating that they lack the will to fight and are only visible in the media, not among the people.

He highlighted that the district council elections took place today, with the Mahayuti winning power in all 12 district councils. The BJP emerged as the largest party once again, securing the most seats. In the panchayat committee elections, the BJP also retained its status as the largest party. In 2017, the BJP won 284 seats, but this time, they have increased that number to 410. The Mahayuti is expected to have chairs in approximately 105 out of 125 total panchayat committees, achieving a clear majority. This demonstrates the complete trust the people of rural Maharashtra have in the Mahayuti. Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to the citizens.
