Bihars Rising Crime: Tejashwi Yadav Critiques Government After Executive Officers Murder

Patna, August 3: The political climate in Bihar has intensified following the murder of Bimal Kumar, the Executive Officer of the Dehri Nagar Parishad in Rohtas. Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the assembly, visited the family of the deceased at the Digha crematorium. He also spoke with the officer’s wife over the phone, assuring the family of all possible assistance.

Yadav described the incident as extremely serious, stating, “Two officers have been murdered one after the other. This is a grave matter, and their families should be provided with security. We pray for the peace of the departed soul and express our condolences to the families. It is unfortunate that criminals are committing such murders while the Bihar police are supposed to protect them.”

After meeting with the family at the crematorium, Yadav raised questions about the government’s response. He remarked, “This is unacceptable. They were your government’s officials, and after their deaths, you are not even meeting their families. Instead, you are leaving the entire family on the streets. If they do not receive justice, who will stand with the government tomorrow?”

The opposition leader demanded a fair investigation, strict punishment for the guilty, security for the family, and a CBI inquiry under judicial supervision. He urged the government to take this matter seriously and implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Yadav stated, “Those who are guilty must be arrested and given the harshest punishment.”

He also criticized Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary regarding the state’s law and order situation. Yadav pointed out, “It has been over 100 days since Samrat Chaudhary became Chief Minister, and he has failed to manage Bihar. The state treasury is empty, and conditions in Bihar have deteriorated. Criminals are roaming freely.”

He alleged that even officials in Bihar are not receiving adequate protection. If a government officer can be murdered in such a manner, how safe is the common public? Yadav concluded that the government is merely making statements, while there is no real control over criminals at the ground level.
