
Patna, August 2: Bihar’s Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, emphasized the need for a drug-free youth generation to build a developed India and prosperous Bihar. He stated that the youth will play a crucial role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047. Healthy, disciplined, and drug-free young individuals can contribute fully to nation-building.
During a video conference, the Chief Minister participated in the launch of the ‘Drug-Free Youth for Developed India’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Modi. The campaign was inaugurated in Bihar by the Governor, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain, and the Chief Minister, who lit a lamp together. Both the Prime Minister and the Governor addressed the event.
The Chief Minister noted that achieving drug-free status is not solely about legislation. While the government can enforce laws, success depends on public participation and social awareness. Engaging youth in this campaign and promoting widespread awareness in society is essential. He highlighted the positive outcomes of the complete alcohol ban implemented in Bihar since 2016, particularly benefiting women and families, and fostering a positive social environment.
He remarked that Bihar has a rich heritage of knowledge, education, and culture, and now the youth of the state must take a leading role in building a developed India through their talent and energy. The Chief Minister assured that the state government prioritizes both economic development and social reforms equally.
He praised the Brahma Kumaris organization for their role in the de-addiction campaign and expressed the government’s intent to collaborate with them to extend the campaign’s reach to villages, cities, schools, and colleges. Attendees at the event took an oath for de-addiction and were presented with caps to promote the campaign.
The event was attended by Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, the Chief Minister’s Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, the Governor’s Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar Singh, members of the Brahma Kumaris, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, disaster management friends, and a large number of youth.
