Beijing, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : In Beijing, the Yichuang District is transforming urban governance through the integration of advanced technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence. This economic and technological development zone is making city management smarter and more efficient.
Yan Yunxiang, a member of the patrol team in Yichuang, has experienced significant changes in his work due to the introduction of AI-powered patrol vehicles. These intelligent vehicles conduct 24/7 surveillance, emergency rescues, and preventive measures. They send immediate alerts to a mobile application when issues arise, allowing for quick responses. “When a problem is detected during patrols, our mobile application notifies us, helping us identify areas with litter or vehicles parked improperly,” Yan explained.
Currently, there are 20 AI-operated unmanned patrol vehicles deployed in Yichuang. Sun Fei, an employee from the Ronghua sub-district, noted that any risks detected by the platform undergo manual evaluation before being assigned to frontline personnel for immediate action.
According to Liu Xiang from the urban management office, this platform operates around the clock, relying on large models and vast data, providing more accuracy and speed compared to human intervention.
In Ronghua, robotic services have been introduced at facilities that integrate community centers, science and technology exhibition halls, and nursing homes. Over a quarter of the area’s residents are over the age of sixty.
Eighty-year-old Chuang Lei visits the facility at least twice a week, not only for meals but also to experience AI health monitoring. He mentioned, “Scanning my face provides accurate results for various health indicators, saving both time and money.”
Chang Li, director of the livelihood guarantee office in the sub-district, reported that 60 robots have been deployed in the area. Feedback from the elderly is collected and sent to manufacturers, laying the groundwork for robot-assisted home services.
From intelligent patrols to smart care for the elderly, Beijing’s Yichuang District is leveraging integrated innovations to enhance urban governance and continually improve residents’ satisfaction, happiness, and sense of safety.
