India and Kazakhstan Reinforce Commitment to Strengthen Partnership

Astana, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : India and Kazakhstan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their bilateral partnership during discussions held on October 7 in Astana. The meeting involved Indian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Y.K. Sailas Thangal, and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Arman Issagaliev.

The Indian Embassy in Kazakhstan shared on social media that the meeting was both cordial and productive. It highlighted the review of all aspects of the bilateral relationship and emphasized the commitment of both nations to transform their strong partnership into tangible results.

During the discussions, the two officials explored ways to capitalize on emerging opportunities, deepen mutual understanding, and further enhance the forward-looking partnership between India and Kazakhstan.

Last month, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. They reiterated their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between their countries.

According to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Prime Minister Modi recalled the ancient civilizational ties between India and Kazakhstan and expressed satisfaction with the continuous development of their relationship in recent years.

The leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including politics, trade, defense and security, connectivity, energy, critical minerals, emerging technologies, and cultural exchanges. They also shared their views on regional and international developments.

Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening their strategic partnership for the mutual benefit of their peoples, as well as for peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region.

During his visit, Tokayev participated in the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi on September 12-13 and attended a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Modi for the leaders on September 12.
