Amaravati, August 2: YSR Congress Party President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has made serious allegations against the N. Chandrababu Naidu government regarding the law and order situation in the state. He claimed that a culture of ‘revenge politics’ is prevailing, where attackers are being protected while victims face criminal charges.
In a post on the social media platform X, Jagan questioned, “Chandrababu Naidu, what is actually happening in Andhra Pradesh today? If the attackers belong to the ruling party, they receive protection. If the victims are from YSR Congress, cases are filed against them. Those questioning the government are arrested. Is this democracy? Is this justice?”
Jagan referred to the arrest of BC MLA Virupakshi from Alur, asking, “Was it necessary to send a heavy police force to break down the door of a democratically elected MLA’s house at 2:45 AM?”
He reported that TDP workers allegedly attacked the house of a YSRCP leader in the Nemakallu village of Chippagiri Mandal. When MLA Virupakshi went to meet the affected family, he was also pelted with stones, injuring his brother.
He asserted that if the law were fair, it should have been the attackers who were arrested, not the MLA who was attacked. However, the opposite is occurring, with serious charges like attempted murder being levied against the MLA and YSRCP workers.
Jagan also questioned the police’s seizure of the CCTV hard disk from the MLA’s residence, asking, “Was it seized to prevent the police’s misconduct during the midnight operation from coming to light?”
He cited the arrest of former minister Sidiri Appala Raju in Srikakulam district, alleging that a road accident was politically manipulated into a murder case. When he visited the family, a large crowd gathered. Subsequently, the government allegedly tampered with video evidence and filed cases against Chintada Ravikumar and other leaders.
In the case of former Guntur East MLA Sheikh Mohammad Mustafa, he noted a similar pattern. A person involved in a business dispute was handed over to the police, yet a kidnapping case was filed against Mustafa. Is this solely because of his association with YSRCP?
Jagan stated that the entire state is questioning the Gen-Z government. He raised issues regarding the CBI investigation into irregularities in DSC-2025, the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, the pending ₹9,500 crore under ‘Vidya Deevena’ and ‘Vasathi Deevena’, and the ₹3,000 unemployment allowance.
He emphasized that by not addressing these questions, the government is diverting attention through false cases, midnight arrests, and police excesses.
Jagan warned, “Mr. Chandrababu, remember that political power and police strength do not last forever. No matter how many cases you file or doors you break down, YSRCP will not back down. We will stand with the victims and fight against tyranny. You may arrest people, but you cannot suppress their courage and questions.”
