Bihar Police Engages in Shootout, Arrests Two Criminals in Siwan

Mumbai, March 25: In Bihar, the police are actively working to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities. Early Wednesday morning, a shootout occurred in the Basantpur area of Siwan, resulting in injuries to two criminals who were subsequently arrested.

According to a police official, the authorities received information about some criminals planning a significant crime near Lahji Basantpur. Acting swiftly on this tip-off, the Basantpur police team conducted a raid at the specified location.

During the operation, as the police were encircling the area, the criminals opened fire on the police team. In response, the police took defensive measures and returned fire, injuring two of the criminals. They were immediately rushed to the Sadar Hospital in Siwan for treatment.

The injured criminals have been identified as Rohit Sharma, involved in multiple criminal activities including the Basantpur jewelry shop robbery, and Rohit Kumar, alias Rishu, linked to the Basantpur robbery incident.

Medical professionals have reported that both individuals are in stable condition. Upon receiving news of the incident, the Superintendent of Police and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Maharajganj arrived at the scene to assess the situation. A forensic team has also been summoned to investigate the site further. The police are currently probing the matter to determine if more individuals were present with the arrested criminals.
