Singh commented on HS Phoolka’s recent entry into the BJP, stating that his criticism of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) stemmed from his belief that entering politics was a mistake.
Singh noted that Phoolka has been a prominent advocate for Sikh issues, particularly in relation to the 1984 riots. He recalled that Phoolka left AAP in 2019 due to the party’s refusal to support his legal battle against Sajjan Kumar. Singh believes Phoolka’s joining the BJP will strengthen the party.
Addressing Banerjee’s allegations about the voter list, Singh remarked that during her tenure, she claimed that incorrect votes were removed but failed to provide evidence of any such cases. He accused her of being a deceptive leader and urged the Election Commission to take appropriate actions for fair elections. Singh questioned how transfers of officials could influence elections, asserting that Banerjee has politicized the administration.
On the topic of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Singh stated that it is part of their agenda. He mentioned that laws have been passed and implemented in Uttarakhand and Gujarat, and he called for the UCC bill to be enacted in Assam as well, ensuring equal rights for all citizens without special privileges for any particular caste or religion.
Regarding Hemant Soren’s expenditure of ₹69 crore on the Chief Minister’s residence, Singh criticized it as the third extravagant mansion of its kind in the country. He compared it to the lavish residences built in Delhi and Punjab, emphasizing the need for accountability in government spending.
