Gaurav Vallabh Advocates for Transparency in Foreign Funding with FCRA Amendment Bill 2026

New Delhi, April 2: BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh expressed his support for the FCRA Amendment Bill 2026 on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for complete transparency in foreign funding.

Speaking to reporters, Vallabh stated, “India receives approximately ₹22,000 crores in foreign funding annually, with over 16,000 NGOs operating in the country. We must ensure that this funding is not used to set any narrative or compromise national security.”

He stressed the importance of monitoring assets created from foreign funding, even if an NGO’s FCRA license is revoked. “There can be no compromise on the nation’s security,” he added.

Vallabh also criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her recent letter to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, demanding large-scale transfers and postings of officials. He remarked, “The Calcutta High Court had already dismissed a similar petition from Banerjee. She is repeating the same allegations. The RJD did this before the Bihar elections, and now Banerjee is following suit. What happened to the RJD in Bihar will happen to TMC and Banerjee in Bengal.”

He further stated, “Those who deceive the people of Bengal in the name of ‘Maa, Mati, and Manush’ will face consequences in the upcoming assembly elections. Banerjee is clearly aware of her impending defeat and is already searching for excuses. This is a clear indication of her frustration.”

Discussing the economy, Vallabh asserted that India is the fastest-growing economy in the world. He noted that the fiscal deficit is under control and foreign exchange reserves are at an all-time high. “While many countries have raised petrol prices by 70 to 80 percent, petrol and diesel prices in India remain stable,” he remarked.

He targeted the opposition, saying, “If anyone wants to view the country negatively, I can only pray that God grants them wisdom.”
