Patna, April 14: Nitish Kumar resigned from his position as Chief Minister on Tuesday. The resignation process involved completing necessary administrative formalities. Kumar met with the Governor to submit his resignation and then exited Lok Bhawan. Following his resignation, he shared an emotional message for party workers and the public.
On his social media account, Kumar stated, “You know that the NDA government was formed in the state for the first time on November 24, 2005. Since then, the rule of law has prevailed, and we have been consistently engaged in development work. The government has focused on the progress of all communities, whether Hindu, Muslim, upper caste, backward, extremely backward, Dalit, or Mahadalit. Work has been done across all sectors, including education, health, roads, electricity, and agriculture. Significant efforts have also been made for women and youth.”
He added, “Recently, our work has been further advanced. For the next five years, from 2025 to 2030, the formation of ‘Saat Nischay-3’ has been established. This will lead to even more progress, allowing Bihar to advance significantly. The central government has also provided full support for Bihar’s development. We express our gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this. Bihar will develop rapidly and will be among the top states in the country, contributing significantly to national progress.”
Kumar emphasized, “We have accomplished a lot for the people of Bihar. We have consistently served the public. We decided it was time to step down from the Chief Minister position, and after the cabinet meeting, I met with the Governor to submit my resignation. A new government will now oversee the work here. I will fully support and guide the new government. Great work lies ahead, and Bihar will progress significantly. I thank everyone and wish them well.”
