Jaipur, Aug 12 (H.S.) – In a first-of-its-kind experiment in India, artificial rainfall using drone and AI-based cloud seeding technology will be conducted at Jaipur’s historic Ramgarh Dam today. The demonstration, scheduled for Tuesday at 1 PM, is being organized jointly by the government and a private technology firm. Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena will be present at the event.
The experiment was originally planned for July 31 but was postponed due to heavy rain warnings at the time. A team of scientists has been in Jaipur for several days, carrying out preparatory trials for the artificial rain process.

Jamwaramgarh MLA Mahendra Pal Meena said a special programme has been arranged to mark the beginning of the artificial rain project, and local residents have been invited to witness the event.
Approvals for the experiment have been secured from various central and state government departments and agencies, including the Agriculture Department. The project is being executed by GenX AI, a technology-based company from the US and Bengaluru, using AI-powered drones for cloud seeding.
The drones, imported from Taiwan, have already undergone trial runs in the dam area. In this process, drones fly thousands of feet above the ground and spray chemicals such as sodium chloride into the clouds. This stimulates the condensation of microscopic water droplets, leading to the formation of raindrops and subsequent rainfall.
