New Delhi, March 1: In a significant operation directed by senior officials, the Delhi Police has intensified its campaign against wanted and habitual offenders. As part of this initiative, the Northern Range-I Crime Branch team achieved a major breakthrough by arresting 22-year-old Krishna, also known as Kinni, a resident of Jahangirpuri, who was wanted in a shooting case.
The accused was wanted in a case registered at the Mahendra Park police station, linked to a shooting motivated by revenge. According to police reports, Krishna was involved in a shooting incident in the area along with an accomplice and had been evading arrest since the incident.
On February 28, 2026, under DD number 74A, the Northern Range-I team, which included Sub-Inspector Manish, Sub-Inspector Hitesh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Narendra, Head Constable Mandeep, Head Constable Shabbir, and Head Constable Akash, was engaged in patrolling and gathering intelligence in the area under the supervision of Inspector Ajay Sharma and ACP/NR-I.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of DCP Crime Pankaj Kumar. Around 11:15 AM, Head Constables Neeraj and Shabbir received a tip-off from a reliable informant that Krishna had been spotted near Shah Alam Bandh Road in Jahangirpuri. Taking the information seriously and obtaining permission from senior officials, a raid party was formed. The team reached the location, identified the accused based on the informant’s directions, and apprehended him.
During interrogation, Krishna revealed that on January 24, 2026, he, along with an accomplice, fired at two young men named Anmol and Salman due to personal enmity. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Following the shooting, he and his accomplice fled and hid in different locations to avoid police capture. Investigations also revealed that Krishna had previously been involved in a similar shooting case at the Jahangirpuri police station. In May 2025, he had participated in celebratory gunfire with friends, which resulted in his imprisonment.
Krishna grew up in Jahangirpuri and dropped out of school after completing the tenth grade. He fell into bad company and developed a drinking habit, gradually becoming involved in criminal activities. In the recent incident, he shot at his former rival in collaboration with his associate Aftab and then went into hiding.
Police officials state that this arrest is a crucial part of the ongoing special operation and will aid in maintaining law and order in the area.
