Punjab Police Busts Inter-State Illegal Arms Supply Ring, Four Arrested

Patiala, April 2: The Punjab Police in Patiala have successfully dismantled an inter-state illegal arms supply network. In this operation, four suspects were arrested, and a cache of weapons was seized.

Initial investigations revealed that these individuals were transporting homemade firearms from Bihar to Punjab. These weapons were reportedly being used by local gangsters for violent confrontations and criminal activities. The inquiry also uncovered that the suspects were attempting to establish dominance in the area by targeting a rival criminal linked to Goldy Dhillon. Authorities recovered ten sleek, high-end self-loading guns from the suspects.

The Patiala Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation to dismantle the entire network. Officials emphasized their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against illegal arms trafficking and organized crime, aiming to keep Punjab safe and secure.

Recently, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police also exposed an illegal arms trafficking ring during a checkpoint operation. They seized two 9mm submachine guns and an empty magazine. Preliminary investigations indicated that these weapons were intended for Gurpreet Singh, a gangster associated with Goldy Dhillon. Police believe these firearms were meant for criminal activities and potentially anti-national operations in Punjab.

An FIR has been filed at the Cheherhta police station under the Arms Act. The police are now focused on identifying other suspects and suppliers involved in this network, with the goal of completely dismantling it to uphold the rule of law in the region.
