Patna, April 2: Former Union Minister and National President of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), Pashupati Paras, has made a significant decision to promote youth leadership within the party. The RLJP has appointed Chandan Singh as the President of Bihar Pradesh.
In an interview, Pashupati Paras stated, “Today is a very auspicious day. It is the last full moon of the Chaitra month. We have decided to entrust all major responsibilities of the party to the youth.” He emphasized that the RLJP aims to initiate a new political era in Bihar. The party’s goal is to infuse fresh energy into Bihar’s politics.
Pashupati Paras further announced that the party will launch a comprehensive membership campaign starting April 14. He expressed confidence, saying, “Within six months, we will firmly establish the RLJP in the mainstream politics of Bihar.” This decision is seen as crucial for the organizational expansion of the party and for encouraging young leaders.
Addressing comments made by Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during his visit to Kerala, Pashupati Paras raised questions. Tejashwi Yadav had claimed that he hails from “the poorest state in the country,” referring to Bihar. In response, Paras remarked, “Tejashwi Yadav would not make such a statement without reason. He must have considered survey reports.”
Paras acknowledged the issues of poverty, unemployment, and corruption in Bihar, stating that these problems cannot be denied. He noted, “Poverty still exists in Bihar, and the state has not progressed as it should have.” However, he also praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserting, “Nitish Kumar has developed Bihar, and there is no doubt about it. We should commend those who have worked.”
On this matter, Chirag Paswan, National President of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Union Minister, also targeted Tejashwi Yadav. Speaking to reporters, Chirag Paswan said, “The opposition is tarnishing the image of their own state for electoral gains by making claims about Bihar being the poorest state.”
