Aman Arora Accuses BJP of Double Standards in Business and Religion Politics

Chandigarh, June 9: Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of practicing double standards in its approach to business and social harmony. Speaking to the media after a significant meeting with industrialists from Mandi Gobindgarh and Khanna at the Industrial Building in Chandigarh, he stated that the BJP’s policies are sending a misleading message to traders across the country.

In his remarks to journalists, Arora emphasized that there is no doubt that the BJP tends to protect its close associates and supporters. He noted that while the party claims to represent Hindus, its current oppressive policies are adversely affecting Hindu traders in India.

Arora alleged that the pressure on the business community and the neglect of their interests are sending negative signals not just in Punjab, but throughout the nation. He asserted that this behavior reveals the BJP’s double standards.

When asked about allegations made by Congress regarding issues related to Damdami Taksal, Arora responded that the BJP should clarify its stance on the matter to the public. He indicated that recent events suggest the BJP is attempting to polarize Hindu-Sikh communities in Punjab with an eye on the 2027 assembly elections.

He remarked that Punjab is one of the most secular states in the country, having endured a long and difficult period of terrorism. Despite this, the people have consistently upheld brotherhood, social unity, and communal harmony. He emphasized that there is no discrimination based on religion in Punjab, and the populace will not accept divisive politics.

In response to discussions about around 20 rebel MPs from the Trinamool Congress, Arora accused the BJP of trying to weaken opposition parties. He stated that the Aam Aadmi Party has continuously pointed out that the BJP is working on a strategy to eliminate opposition in various states. Arora claimed that the BJP attempts to undermine its allied parties from within and uses central investigative agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to eliminate opposition parties.

He concluded by stating that political circumstances in a democracy are not always the same, and those who abuse power will eventually be held accountable by the public.
