Akhilesh Yadav Questions Police Encounter in Ankit Balian Murder Case, BJP Responds

Lucknow, August 31: The police encounter involving shooters linked to the Ankit Balian murder case has raised questions from Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party. In response, BJP leaders, including Uttar Pradesh ministers Dayashankar Singh and Kapil Dev Agarwal, along with state president Pankaj Chaudhary and vice president Neeraj Singh, defended the police action, clarifying the Yogi government’s stance on law and order.

Minister Dayashankar Singh emphasized that under Yogi Adityanath‘s administration, the rule of law prevails in Uttar Pradesh. He stated that any individual taking the law into their own hands would face strict consequences. Criticizing the previous Samajwadi Party government, he claimed that during that time, criminals felt emboldened, and there were incidents of misconduct involving police officials. He assured that the current government is taking stringent action against offenders.

Kapil Dev Agarwal remarked that the police action serves as a response to Akhilesh Yadav’s inquiries. He noted that during the previous Samajwadi Party regime, criminals received political protection. In the Ankit Balian case, the police and STF acted swiftly, neutralizing the suspects within three days. He asserted that under the Yogi government, criminals will not be spared.

BJP vice president Neeraj Singh accused Akhilesh Yadav of attempting to create a misleading narrative regarding police actions. He reiterated that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made it clear that there will be no compromise on law and order. The government’s policy is to take firm action against crime and the mafia.

Pankaj Chaudhary, the BJP state president, stated that the opposition and Akhilesh Yadav have lost faith in any institution. He clarified that the STF is not a new entity but has been operational for a long time. He criticized the opposition for merely leveling accusations.

Regarding Akhilesh Yadav’s allegations about the SIR, Pankaj Chaudhary pointed out that Yadav seems to oscillate between supporting and opposing the SIR. He urged the Samajwadi Party leader to clarify his position.
