Political Reactions Surge Following Encounter of Main Shooters in Ankit Balian Murder Case

Lucknow, August 31: The murder of Haryanvi singer and actor Ankit Balian has intensified political rhetoric in Uttar Pradesh following the encounter of the two main shooters. Ministers from the state government and BJP leaders have linked the police action to law and order and the zero-tolerance policy, targeting the opposition in the process. In response to questions regarding the encounter, BJP leaders stated that a magistrate’s inquiry into every police encounter is already mandated.

Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar emphasized that the rule of law prevails in the state and country, asserting that no criminal can escape justice after committing a crime. He accused Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav of politicizing the Ankit Balian murder case. Rajbhar stated that the police’s actions in this case are clear, and it is now Yadav’s turn to respond.

During the discussion, Rajbhar also commented on Maulana Arshad Madani, a leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. He alleged that Madani associates with political parties and individuals who engage in hate politics, specifically naming the Samajwadi Party, Congress, and TMC as parties that incite hatred among Muslims.

Minister Sanjay Nishad also criticized the opposition regarding the Ankit Balian murder case. He reiterated that the state government’s policy is one of zero tolerance. While investigations into crimes may take time, the government’s priority is to ensure swift justice for victims of injustice.

On the encounter of the two main shooters, Nishad stated that the government is taking strict action against crime. He accused the opposition of politicizing police actions and questioned the law and order situation during the previous Samajwadi Party regime, claiming that police used to fire on people under the guise of action.

BJP MP Brij Lal also supported the encounter, stating that Ankit Balian was a rising artist who was brutally murdered. He praised the actions of the Uttar Pradesh Police and STF, noting that both main shooters have been killed.

Regarding the demand for an inquiry into the encounter, Brij Lal mentioned that magistrate inquiries into police encounters have been a long-standing practice. He accused the opposition of a double standard, pointing out that when Ankit Balian was murdered, the incident was politicized along caste and party lines, but now questions are being raised about police actions against criminals.
