Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes BJP Government for Ruining Education System

Prayagraj, June 29: Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has accused the BJP government of destroying the education and examination system. He stated that ongoing paper leaks, irregularities in recruitment exams, the closure of government schools, and rising unemployment have plunged the future of youth into darkness. Yadav warned that if the situation regarding education and employment does not improve, the country’s demographic dividend could turn into a significant challenge.

Speaking at the ‘Vision India’ event in Prayagraj, Yadav addressed a discussion on the topic “Education-Examination: Why Has the System Collapsed?” He emphasized that education is the foundation of any country. A weakened education system and examination process ultimately harm the youth and the nation’s future.

Yadav pointed out that continuous paper leaks, exam cancellations, and increasing unemployment have led to heightened mental stress among young people, with some candidates even resorting to suicide out of despair. He alleged that the BJP government has undermined the entire education system from kindergarten to postgraduate levels. Thousands of government schools are being shut down, universities are suffering from political interference, and the education budget is consistently being reduced. He criticized the government for spending more on advertisements than on education and research.

He also highlighted that teachers are being assigned non-educational tasks instead of teaching, while basic facilities in schools are lacking. Yadav claimed that primary schools in villages are being closed under the guise of mergers, adversely affecting the education of young children, especially girls.

Addressing the issue of vacant teaching positions in higher education institutions, he noted that qualified candidates are being rejected under the pretext of “not found suitable.” Furthermore, the neglect of reservation in recruitment processes, delays in scholarships, and rising fees are forcing children from poor families to drop out of school. Yadav stated that the lack of job opportunities has the most significant impact on daughters, as many female students drop out due to safety concerns and inadequate facilities, which poses a serious issue for the country’s development.

He accused the BJP government of allowing corruption to infiltrate the education and examination systems. From paper leaks to the recruitment process, the entire framework is affected, and the government is evading responsibility. He asserted that if the government prioritized employment, recruitment exams would not be canceled repeatedly.

Yadav also questioned the contract recruitment system, stating that it undermines the reservation system in favor of permanent jobs. Referring to the recruitment of 69,000 teachers, he alleged that injustice has been done regarding reservations, and the contract system is harming social justice.

He claimed that over 20,000 primary schools have already been closed in Uttar Pradesh, posing a severe threat to the education system. Yadav reaffirmed the Samajwadi Party’s commitment to making the education and examination system transparent and robust. “If education is good and examinations are good, then progress is guaranteed,” he concluded, pledging to work towards a better future for the youth.
